It is a self portrait, and yes I am afraid of clowns!
When I looked Back on all my old AP art from high school I realized how bad they were, so I redid a couple of them. I did this a couple of months ago but haven't uploaded it until now because my camera sucks at taking pictures of art :/ This is the best I could do.
Size: 18x24
Materials: Winsor and Newton Gauche and Strathmore watercolor paper.
I really like your shading and the expression of your portrait! As a kid my fear of clowns was pretty bad - and my mom once went to a circus with me to celebrate my good grades. Nowadays I can sort of tolerate them, but they still give me the creeps... Hope you can overcome your fear
Thank you so much! My mom has taken me to the circus as a child as well and it was not pleasant. There were definitely some tears involved lol. I am still very afraid of them but luckily I don't encounter them very much ^^ They are not as scary to me on paper as in person, and since I don't go circus' that have clowns I don't really have to deal with them.
No problem! I was actually fine until this one clown started to go through the crowd and I just cowered on my seat and prayed he would come near me! And nowadays there is this guy in the city sometimes that I just cannot avoid passing who is dressed up as a clown. Whenever he looks in my direction I just---argh, it's horrible! xD
I'm pretty sure I would die if I saw a clown out in broad daylight just walking down the street. I have this fear that when I walk through the park at night I will see a clown hiding behind a tree. And then I run through the park looking like a complete lunatic.lol
As stated prior, I have some-what overcome this fear, so I don't run around flailing my arms while screaming in fear. But if a clown ever went to talk to me, or only even in my DIRECTION, I'd defintely abscond the fuck out of that place. I have a great fear of when I walk through a park and I'll discover ANYONE hiding behind a tree, but if it were a clown...I think I might have a panic-attack.
